Do Not Be Conformed

Do Not Be Conformed Bible Journaling Page using Shimelle Glitter Girl and Illustrating Bible - Lydia Cost

For the most part I worked in my scripture art journal at my retreat this month, but I did manage to get one actual Bible page finished.  This one was from a devotional that a dear lady had shared during our time spent together.

We had begun the retreat by discussing the judgement we place on ourselves and others, and I definitely needed the Biblical reminder to not conform to society’s standards.  We spend all this time rating each other, based on achievements, sins, and outwardly appearance, but that is not the life that God designed for us.

Romans 12:1-2 (ESV)

12 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

This pretty little sticker from Shimelle’s Glitter Girl Collection was the perfect illustration to represent an idea of appreciation, not only for myself but of others as well.

Thanks so much for stopping by again today, and I hope that you are reminded to find your value and that of others in Christ!  Shake off the conformity of today’s society and see the beauty in the crown that has been placed on our heads!

Luke 6:43-45 (ESV)

43 “For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit, 44 for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thorn bushes, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush. 45 The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

Hosea 10:12 (ESV)

12 Sow for yourselves righteousness;
reap steadfast love;
break up your fallow ground,
for it is the time to seek the Lord,
that he may come and rain righteousness upon you.

I hope you don’t get tired of me sharing my pages from the Faithful Life Challenge in the Playbook, because I just love it so! It is so appealing to my eye when I’m finished, and it’s such a breeze to create, leaving more time to memorize my verses! So be prepared to see a lot more of that!
