Revival Camp Session 6, Day 2

Illustrated Faith Revival Camp Travelers Notebook Session 6 - Lydia Cost

For this page in my TN, I wanted to use a vellum piece from the Flourish collection ephemera pack.  This section of session 6 was focused on waiting on the Lord’s timing, and I instantly thought of the patiently waiting for beautiful things to grow.  I picked out this little glass bell jar terrarium illustration because it instantly made me think of that!

Because it is a vellum piece, I wanted to add a background to my book page to help it stand out.

As I was out the other day, these amazing Vicki Boutin watercolors instantly popped out at me.  I picked them up and thought, “Do I really need another set of watercolors,” and the answer was a definite yes!  I have no liquid watercolors like this in my arsenal, and these are simply gorgeous, vibrant colors!

I layered on another leftover punch shadow piece, another piece of that cellophane bag from yesterday’s entry, and a glassine piece to create a whimsical cluster.  I then stitched my title over that and adhered my pretty vellum bell jar above it!

Lastly I used this great sticker from the Flourish Cardstock Sticker Sheet, a little stitching, and an Elle’s Studio Sticker for my number!  I really love the way this page turned out!

Revival Camp Session 6

I feel like I have totally let loose creatively with this second kit of Revival Camp, and I have found total artist peace!  That rarely happens for me, and it feels so good!  I have learned that when I am creating I can be far too much of a perfectionist, but with this TN I’ve totally surrendered to simply creating for the fun of it!  I pulled out my scrap stash and went to town on these little pages!

I had this little cellophane bag that my husband brought home with samples from his hair salon, and I just loved it!  As I’ve been working with black in a lot of these pages, I knew I’d be using it right away!  I cut out a little piece of that bag and created a little shaker pocket with the Revival Camp “Trail Mix”  I also couldn’t help but use my punch shadow from the previous entry!  And to add a punch of gold color, I chose this gorgeous paper from the Flourish collection called, Goldenrod!

I finished off my spread with a few cardstock stickers and my title!

Cristin quoted Psalm 143  in Session 6, Route, and it says, “Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.”  I really needed to hear that, and these girls know exactly what to put in these little devotionals to speak to your heart!
