Winter Blues Game Plan

Winter Blue Game Plan Spread using The Reset Girl Winter Mini Kit and the Crafty Club Playbook - Lydia Cost

I had a page left from week 1 of my art journaling pages in my Crafty Playbook, so I decided that I would create a little game plan for combatting the winter blues.

Is it just me or do you guys suffer from the winter blues from time to time.  I’ve never officially been diagnosed with SAD, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a little more relevant than I hope.  I have to be very diligent about taking my self-care seriously during these gloomy, cold months.

I used the Winter Mini Kit in The Reset Girl Shop, designed by my fellow teammate, Claudia!  She’s so talented!  It had the perfect “Winter” banner for my page title.

This mini kit includes some of the cutest, plaid stars, and I’ve been pasting them everywhere.

I finished off this page with a great post it from the Crafty Club Kit, and it really held the most important part of this page.

Heaven is Like Treasure: FLC Day 7

Heaven is Like Treasure Bible Journaling Page in the Illustrating Bible - Lydia Cost

I’m back again today sharing another page from my Illustrating Bible; I’m still working through this month’s Faithful Life Challenge.

I’m especially fond of this page because I love jewel tone colors, and I love when I create freely with my scraps.

Pages created from worship and without perfection, always feel like me!

Today’s verse is:

Matthew 13:43-44 (ESV)

43 Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.

The Parable of the Hidden Treasure

44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

I finished off my page with some gold glitter Thickers and some great treasure puffy stickers I got a couple years ago.  I’m totally smitten with this simple little page.

Shine On You: FLC Day 5

Shine On You Bible Journaling Page in the Illustrating Bible using The Reset Girl Sparkle Collection - Lydia Cost

I think this might be one of my favorite Reset Girl pages. Before I really thought about it, I wasn’t really sure why, but now it’s obvious… it has gold everything, pink, and lots of dimension! It’s everything I love!

I’m still quite terribly behind schedule, but I’m alright with it! I’ve managed to juggle my physical fitness endeavors and my crafty endeavors a lot more effectively than I thought I would, so I count that as a win!

Today’s page comes from Day 5 of the Faithful Life Challenge this month.

DIY Tip In for The Illustrating Bible by Illustrated Faith using Hole Punch - Lydia Cost

For this page I created another tip-in for my Illustrating Bible, using a regular hole punch and a journaling card from the Listers Gotta List Kit.

This is so simple to do; just align your card where you want it to go on your Bible spine. Begin punching your single hole punch through each marked coil area. Then you will simply take your scissors and cut a straight line through the center of each hole. That’s it; slip in your card!

Thanks so much for joining me today, and just as I’ve been telling myself, it’s never too late in the month to start the scripture writing prompts! It’s been so rewarding each month!

8 1/2 x 11: Butterflies

8 1/2 x 11 Scrapbook Layout using Maggie Holmes Gather and Scraps - Lydia Cost

I was so blessed to find myself with a little scrap-therapy time last week, and it felt so nice to scrap with some actual scraps.  Sometimes it is so nice to step away from design team work and scheduled projects, for a little scrapping that’s just for you.  I forget how amazing it feels to create with no idea of the end result.

I took this amazing photo of a monarch at a local wetlands area, and I knew I wanted to get messy and scrappy with it.  I worked out of a little hexagon box of scraps on my desk, and I even included a piece from our recent modem installation under my photo.

That day I felt like I would have made Suse Fish proud with all my scrap using!

I certainly have to remind myself that creating to simply create is so important for my well-being, and I was really happy with this messy little layout about a simple little butterfly!
