Every good Harry Potter theme deserves a few trips to the thrift store and some arts and crafts. I’d never enjoyed preparing for a themed birthday more so than this one. The fun we had in preparation for this party definitely matched the fun we had on the day of! Our party was complete with a carport “Great Hall,” “Honey Dukes,” and a “Prefect’s Bathroom” foam slip-n-slide!

I even painstakingly cut-out these great Honeydukes windows from large colored paper, to make it look extra authentic! I’ve never been dedicated to a theme before. Probably because I’m a millennial, and my 7 year old was finally old enough to love Harry Potter!

I made custom yard signs to place around our foam slip-n-slide, to emulate the perfect Prefect’s Bathroom. We had Moaning Myrtle and the egg from Goblet of Fire!

In the weeks leading up to the party, I began working on the paper goods. Little Honeyduke’s gift bags for candies, chocolate frog boxes, and Fizzing Whizbee packaging, and everything in between. I’ve put the downloads in this post just for you!

I sent a picture of Harry’s cake to the Walmart bakery department and asked them to replicate it. It was an inexpensive way to get a custom cake on the cheap!

Our tablescape was filled with thrifted treasures, linens, and servings dishes. All straight out of the Great Hall obviously. But really they were just every piece of Goodwill sterling silver that I could find on the absolute cheap. Servettes, pitchers, and silver edged glass bowls.

Our candy station was made perfect with some homemade chocolate frogs and coordinating boxes! I picked up this frog mold from Amazon, and it was perfection!

And because I put so much effort into my kiddo’s birthday parties, we normally only do a party year every other year. But this one will go down as one of my absolute favorites!
