I’ve recently been eye-ing all the beautiful embroidery thread creations on Pinterest, and I’m especially obsessed with the embroidered hair! I just couldn’t help but add a little pizazz to this gorgeous mermaid from the Bella Blvd Secrets of the Sea collection.
I knew I wanted to add some really long dark braids to the pretty little lady, but she already had a top bun. I went about cutting off her pretty little bun to make room for some long locks!
After removing her bun, I began by stitching on the hair on the top of the head, matching the pattern that was illustrated on the ephemera. I finished stitching at the bottom of each corner of her head to string several strands below her ears for those long brads!
I left one side open so that it appear as if she was still braiding, since her hand was in the perfect position. Isn’t she just the cutest?!
I added her to my Bible page along with a few pieces of other ephemera, alphas, and some ciao chips. It was a super simply page, but I wanted that lovely little mermaid to do all the talking!
