I’m aware that Day 7 was about Lessons Learned, but for me that means Forgiveness and Patience with me on behalf of our Lord. We are beyond blessed to have a father’s love that endures past all of our sins and mistakes. He is abounding in grace and steadfast love for us! He has patience to help us learn lessons so that we might be more like Him.
I first saw the amazing new line Creative Devotion (used here) by American Crafts on Jana Eubank‘s blog, and I left a comment saying I would inevitably have to purchase some of it! I decided to go with the stamps because they really reflected my style in general. I also purchased the gold wordfetti! This line is just so pretty, and I want to stamp those little stamps on everything!
I’m pretty certain the little crosses have stolen my heart though! Feel free to check out the entire line here; you won’t regret it!
For the 7th day in Gratitude Documented, I wanted to use stamps because I truthfully don’t use them enough. I stamped out these adorable kites from a Growing Meadows stamp kit because they reminded me of letting go of our past sins. Once they were stamped on old book pages, I watercolored them in. I wanted to add stitching to each kite, so I prepped them by adding washi tape to the cross-sections on back. I then ran each one through the sewing machine and voila!
I used pieces from the Carousel collection to finish off the page including the (much larger than I expected!!!) sheet of wordfetti. I also added two stamps from the Gratitude Documented set from Illustrated Faith that say God’s Amazing Grace and Thankful For.
I’ve been in this serious crafty slump the past week and nothing was coming out quite as I had envisioned, but this was the exception that I needed to get back on track! The sun has not come out here in two weeks, so photos have been nearly impossible, but I managed to squeeze in a couple. I’m sure it’s probably the culprit for the lack of crafty inspiration.
Nehemiah 9:17 (ESV)
17 They refused to obey and were not mindful of the wonders that you performed among them, but they stiffened their neck and appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt.[a] But you are a God ready to forgive, gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, and did not forsake them.
Have a wonderful week, dear friends!
